The average Producer Price Index for industrial chicken farms in the third quarter of the current Iranian year (Sept. 22-Dec. 20, 2020) increased by 70.62% compared with the corresponding quarter of last year, the Statistical Center of Iran announced in a new report.
The overall PPI for the sector in Q3, which ended on Dec. 20, using the year ending March 2017 as the new base year, stood at 370.15, indicating a 30.02% growth compared with the preceding quarter.
During the four-quarter period ending Dec. 20, PPI increased by 30.57% compared with the similar period of the year before. The index grew 15.22% in the four-quarter period ending Sept. 21.
The highest quarter-on-quarter increase of the index among Iranian provinces during the period under review was registered for West Azarbaijan with 57.3% and the lowest producer inflation was recorded in Markazi Province with 9.28%.
On a year-on-year basis, Lorestan registered the highest increase with 108.1% and Sistan-Baluchestan posted the lowest inflation with 19.99%, SCI reported.
PPI is a price index that measures average changes in prices received by domestic producers for their output.
