16,500 Chicken Broiler Farms Operational

A total of 20,520 broiler chicken farms were registered throughout the country in the second quarter of the current fiscal year (June 21-Sept. 21, 2020), of which 16,542 were active and the rest were inactive, the Statistical Center of Iran reported. 
Mazandaran, Isfahan and Khorasan Razavi had the largest number of broiler farms among Iranian provinces during the period. 
These farms produced 3.2 million tons of broilers in the year ending March 2019, indicating a 26% or 658,000-ton increase compared with the year ending March 2018. 
A total of 70,910 people (98% men) worked in broiler farms in the year ending March 2019.
