A total of 161 million square meters of tiles and ceramics were exported from Iran in the last fiscal year (March 2019-20), according to a member of Iran’s Tile and Ceramic Producers Union.
“Our main export destinations were Italy, Spain, Germany, Russia, China and India. The quality of Iran’s tiles and ceramic products are considered lower than those of Italy and Spain, but due to the reasonable prices of our products, we have gained a foothold in international markets,” Mehdi Fekri was also quoted as saying by Fars News Agency.
According to the official, Iran produces 400 million square meters of tiles and ceramics per year.
