N. Khorasan Exports Exceed $51m in Nine Months

A total of 201,600 tons of non-oil commodities worth $51.3 million were exported from North Khorasan Province during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20-Dec. 20), registering an 18.7% and 30.7% decline in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year.
According to the head of Bojnourd’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Saeed Pourabadi, the exports included petrochemicals, urea, melamine, steel products, foodstuff, pasta, pastry, sweets, tomato paste, cement, ceramic artifacts, blood bags, polyethylene pipes, fabric, eggs, vegetables, watermelons, celery, beetroot, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, potatoes, melons, cabbage, lettuce, dates, honeydew and industrial products, the news portal of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported.
Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Germany, Georgia, Italy, Albania, the UAE, Turkey, Russia, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Oman, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Syria were the main export destinations.
A total of 4,800 tons of goods worth $27.4 million were imported into the province during the same period, registering an 84.6% and 77.9% rise in volume and value respectively year-on-year.
The imports included fabric, nickel, ferrochrome, magnesium ferroalloys, carbon electrodes, casting machinery for plastic and rubber products, iron and steel pipes and profiles, gasometer, rice, soda-making machines and portable electric lights, among others. They were mainly purchased from China, Malaysia, the UAE, Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Pakistan, South Korea, Germany, Turkmenistan and South Africa.
