Iran Exports 50% of Tile, Ceramic Output

A total of 278.22 million square meters of tiles and ceramic were produced in Iran during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Nov. 20) to register a 4.5% decline compared with the similar period of last year’s output, data released by the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade show.
Last fiscal year (March 2019-20), around 398 million square meters of these products were produced, registering close to a 5% increase compared with the year before.
Iran’s exports of tiles and ceramic stood at 161 million square meters last year and the figure is estimates to exceed 150 million square meters in the current fiscal year.
Only around half of tiles and ceramic produced in Iran are consumed domestically.
As per the goals of the 20-Year Vision Plan (2005-25), annual tile and ceramic production is targeted to reach 700 million square meters by the final year of the plan.
