Iranian aluminum producers had a total output of 286,449 tons of ingots during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 20-Nov. 21) to register a 67% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year.
According to the latest data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), flagship producer Iran Aluminum Company (IRALCO) accounted for the highest volume of total output with 125,773 tons, up 6% year-on-year.
IRALCO is the top producer of aluminum in Iran. Inaugurated in 1972, the plant has an annual production capacity of 180,000.
It was followed by Almahdi Aluminum Company with 105,954 tons, up 118% YOY; South Aluminum Company (SALCO) with 39,104 tons and Iran Alumina Company with 15,618 tons.
The overall output during the month to Nov. 21 amounted to 39,114 tons, indicating a 56% rise YOY.
