The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration has become an observer member state of World Free Zones Organization.
According to Hossein Kakhaki, an official with IRICA, observer member state will have access to selected WFZO Member Services, including research reports and networking events, international exhibitions and conferences, monthly newsletters, operational and administrative support, and high-level training, IRNA reported.
With more than 620 members, WFZO is the leading international organization for free zones. It is a global not-for-profit organization that provides one authoritative, collective voice representing the interests of free zones around the world.
In November, Director of Kish Free Zone Organization Gholamhossein Mozaffari said his organization had been admitted to WFZO’s honorary membership. He said the Dubai-based organization could play a significant role in promoting the status of its members.
Kish Free Zone Organization is the first Iranian free zone to be admitted to WFZO.
