IranAir, the country’s national flag carrier airline, will operate once-weekly round-trip flights from Tehran to Ankara, after they have been suspended for months due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
With the go-ahead of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran and in compliance with Iran and Turkey agreed upon health protocols, IranAir will resume flights to Ankara, the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported on Thursday.
The national flag carrier is currently operating two weekly flights between Tehran and Istanbul, even though all flights between the two neighboring country were called off as of Oct. 4, based on a decision by the Turkish civil aviation authority.
As per IranAir's announcement, Turkish aviation authorities issued permission for the flag carrier to operate limited flights between the two countries following a series of talks held between the two countries' officials.
