A total of 20,429 public complaints were filed against goods and service providers with the industries, mining and trade organizations of Iranian provinces during the Iranian month ending Nov. 20, showing a 7% decline compared with the similar period of last year.
According to the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade, 18,146 complaints (89% of the total sum) pertained to providers of goods.
The lion’s share of these complaints were against bread and vegetable oils, IRNA reported.
The remaining 2,283 complaints (11%) were filed against service providers, with restaurants and car repair shops accounting for a majority of complaints.
Profiteering, fraud and short-changing were the main source of complaints.
Complaints filed in the provinces of Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, East Azarbaijan and Alborz increased while they declined in Semnan, Kerman, Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad, South Khorasan and Isfahan.
