‘Transportation’ Registers Monthly Deflation But Highest YOY Inflation

The average goods and services Consumer Price Index of “transportation” in the 12-month period ending Nov. 20, which marks the end of the eighth Iranian month, increased by 63.7% compared with the similar period of the year before.
According to the Statistical Center of Iran, with a coefficient of 9.41%, the CPI of transportation among 12 groups of the basket of consumer goods and services purchased by households stood at 373.9 during the period, indicating a 1.1% decrease compared with the month before and making it the only group that registered deflation.
The transportation index registered a year-on-year increase of 96.5%, making it the highest among the groups under review.
