35% Growth in Exports From Jolfa

A total of 109,000 tons of commodities worth $209 million were exported from Jolfa Customs Terminal in East Azarbaijan Province during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 20-Nov. 20), showing a 13% and 35% rise in weight and value respectively, according to the director general of the county’s Customs Office.
“Our main exports included foodstuff, vegetables, oil products, petrochemicals and plastic products that mainly headed to Azerbaijan, Iraq, Armenia and other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Mohammad Khalili was also quoted as saying by ILNA.
The official noted that over the same eight months, close to 145,000 tons of goods worth $305.26 million were imported through Jolfa.
“Transit via this northwestern customs terminal amounted to 217,000 tons worth $333 million,” he said.
Jolfa Customs Terminal earned 1.95 trillion rials ($7.7 million) in revenues, which indicate a 7% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year.
