The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report, reviewing price changes in 53 food items during the month ending Oct. 21.
The biggest month-on-month price rise for a food item during the month under review in urban areas was recorded for butter with 40.3%. A hundred grams of butter was sold at 76,511 rials (26 cents).
The second and third biggest month-on-month price increase during the period under review was registered for eggs with 21.2% and onions with 20.6%, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.
A kilogram of eggs was sold at 186,263 rials (65 cents) and a kilogram of onions went for 40,664 rials (14 cents).
