Passenger Ship Services to Dubai to Resume

Valfajr Shipping Company, a subsidiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line, will resume weekly sailing of passenger ships between Hormozgan’s Bandar Lengeh and Dubai by high-speed catamaran, after an eight-month suspension.

All passengers are required to provide their negative PCR tests for the coronavirus, sit on marked seats and wear facemasks and medical gloves during the trip, Mehr News Agency reported.

NEGEEN Vessel, which has a capacity of 235 passengers, will only accommodate 100 passengers to allow social distancing.

Ferry tickets of Bandar Lengeh-Dubai are 50% cheaper than air travel on the same route. In addition, passengers are allowed to carry 200 kilograms of luggage compared with 40 kilograms when traveling by air.

Sea travel to Dubai from Bandar Lengeh takes five hours; one-way and round-trip tickets cost 7.5 million rials ($23.74) and 11.5 million rials ($36.41), respectively.

Passenger ships leave Bandar Lengeh on Saturdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and return from Dubai on Sundays and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.
