Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture recently launched the so-called “Iranian Trade Center” in Syrian capital, Damascus, according to the chairman of Iran-Syria Chamber of Commerce.
“The center, a 12-story building situated in a 4,000-square-meter plot of land, has been purchased and equipped by ICCIMA. Two floors are dedicated to exhibition spaces and the other floors to different services, including marketing, transportation, legal advisory, banking and insurance, among others,” Keyvan Kashefi was quoted as saying by IRNA on Sunday.
The official noted that so far, 24 Iranian companies have established offices in this building.
“The trade center lends us the opportunity to interact efficiently with chambers of commerce belonging to Syria’s other main commercial cities alongside the capital, like Aleppo, Homs and Latakia,” he added.
According to Kashefi, Iran aims to increase annual exports to Syria to $1 billion by the end of 2021.
He believes this newly-inaugurated trade center can play a significant role to achieve this target.
