Markazi Exports for 82 Countries

A total of 766,000 tons of goods worth $450 million were exported from the central Markazi Province’s customs terminals to 82 countries during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 20-Sept. 21), registering a 16% and 21% decline in tonnage and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year.
According to Director General of Markazi Customs Administration Esmaeil Hosseini, the exports mainly included heavy polyethylene, food and beverages, home and kitchen appliances, bituminous waterproofing material, plastic and glass artifacts, disposables, aluminum tins, tissue, steel products and aluminum ingots.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan and the UAE were the main export destinations, ISNA reported.
Hosseini noted that more than 64,000 tons of goods worth $157 million were imported into Markazi Province over the same six-month period from 43 countries, registering a 27% and 32% decline in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year.
The imports mainly included raw material for the production of diaper, aluminum and steel coils, industrial machinery and spare parts, edible essence and packaging material.
China, Turkey, the UAE, India and Iraq were the chief exporters.
