Vice President for Economic Affairs Mohammad Nahavandian says coronavirus bailout payments increased by 168% during the Iranian month ending Aug. 21 to reach 37,540 billion rials ($148 million).
“Of the total sum, 27,910 billion rials [$110 million] were paid to 14 categories of coronavirus-impacted businesses and 9,630 billion [$38 million] to major transportation companies,” he was quoted as saying by Coronomy.ir on Monday.
As of Sept. 6, applications for loans worth 89,560 billion rials ($353 million) have been filed by virus-affected businesses, 31% of which have been paid so far.
The average daily applications registered at Kara.mcls.gov.ir for the coronavirus loans were worth 580 billion rials ($2.3 million) over the month under review.
Nearly 670 billion rials ($2.6 million) worth of loans were paid daily on average.
“Mazandaran, West Azarbaijan, Ilam and Qom put in a better performance than other provinces in offering bailout loans during the month under review,” Nahavandian said.
