Communications Sector Registers Lowest Price Hike

The communications sector experienced the lowest month-on-month, year-on-year and average annual growth in prices among 12 groups of the basket of consumer goods and services purchased by households in the fifth month of the current Iranian year (July 22-Aug. 21).
According to the Statistical Center of Iran, the average goods and services Consumer Price Index in the 12-month period ending Aug. 21, which marks the end of the fifth Iranian month, increased by 6.4% compared with the previous year’s corresponding period.
The CPI of the group stood at 166.1 for the month under review, indicating a 1.7% growth compared with the month before.
