Exports From Tehran’s Customs Terminals Exceed $260m

A total of $261 million worth of non-oil commodities were exported from Tehran’s custom terminals during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 21), with industrial products accounting for 44% of the overall sum.
According to Mojtaba Shirqazi, the commercial affairs deputy with the Industries, Mines and Trade Organization of Tehran Province, agrifood products accounted for 33.2%, petrochemicals for 7.9%, minerals for 7.7%, and hand-woven carpet and handicrafts for 6% of the total exports, IRNA reported.
Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini international airports, in addition to Shahriyar and West Tehran are the Iranian capital’s four customs offices.
Notably, $73 million worth of handicrafts were exported from Tehran Province in the last Iranian year (March 2019-20), according to Managing Director of Tehran Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicraft Directorate Parham Janfeshan.
The exports mainly included glass products, carpets, traditional floor covering, stones and ornaments.
“Persian Gulf littoral states, Turkey, European countries and Southeast Asia were the main destinations of the exports,” he said.
