Experts Only to Be Allowed to Visit Exhibitions Henceforth

Given the significant role specialized exhibitions play in promoting non-oil exports, Iran International Exhibitions Company is determined to hold all events, particularly Elecomp, Agrofood, Oil and Gas, Iran Health and Building Industry exhibitions as scheduled despite the coronavirus, Bahman Hosseinzadeh, the managing director of the company, said on Wednesday. 

“Shutting down the economy is not a viable option, considering scientists’ predictions that the coronavirus outbreak is likely to go on for years. However, it is still possible to hold exhibitions according to health protocols we have drafted,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA. 

Noting that 82 events are slated for the current Iranian year (March 2020-21), the official said, Tehran International Fairground has been equipped with disinfectant tunnels and all that is needed to stem the spread of the virus. In addition, other measures, including online registration, banning public visits, educating security personnel and Iranian Red Crescent Society members who are stationed on the premises of the fairground and distribution of coronavirus-fighting products, will ensure participants’ and visitors’ safety.” 

According to Hosseinzadeh, Iran’s exhibition industry incurred damage to the tune of 3.1 trillion rials ($13 million) due to the outbreak of coronavirus and cancellation or postponement of trade shows. 

“The pandemic hurt 3,300 people engaged in conducting trade fairs plus 450 organizer companies. Job creation decline by one person per 4.5-5 square meters of exhibition space,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA. 

 

 

12th Do-WinTech Held July 2-5

The 12th edition of Doors and Windows Technology International Exhibition, also known as "Do-WinTech 2020", opened at Tehran’s International Fairground on July 2.

The event was organized with the aim of introducing the capacities of domestic industries, promoting investment, transferring latest technologies to Iranian companies, creating a competitive environment and boosting exports, IRNA reported.

Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration, Ali Nikzad, vice speaker of the parliament, said Majlis is determined to utilize the legal capacities to remove impediments in the way of domestic producers and make specialized exhibitions more efficient.

The exhibition only hosted industry insiders, experts and professionals, while the general public were not allowed. 

The exhibition concluded on July 5.

Do-WinTech 2020 was the first exhibition held in Iran, following the outbreak of the new coronavirus. 

 

 

PCCM 2020 Held July 14-17

The Third International Exhibition of Paper, Cardboard, Cellulose Products and Related Machinery, also known as PCCM 2020, was the second expo held in Tehran after the coronavirus outbreak.

It was held at Tehran International Fairground from July 14-17, 2020. 

According to Hosseinzadeh, over 60 domestic companies showcased their products on this platform, which only hosted experts from the field, given the unprecedented situation regarding the outbreak of coronavirus.

Just like the previous event, those who visit are required to follow health protocols.
