Khamir Port to Open by March

Development of the multi-purpose port of Khamir in the south of Iran has made 70% progress and will be inaugurated by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021).

According to director general of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Organization Allahmorad Afifipour, the project will cost 500 billion ($2.27 million), the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported.

According to the official, 5,000-ton vessels will be able to berth at the port.

Upon completion, Khamir Port will create 70 direct and 300 indirect jobs and will have a significant effect on the local economy, which is rich in mines, mineral and seafood.
