Q1 Exports From Mazandaran Ports Reach 185K Tons

A total of 185,000 tons of goods were exported from the ports of Mazandaran Province during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20).
According to Mohammad Bakeri, the head of Mazandaran Road Maintenance and Transportation General Office's International Transportation and Transit Bureau, the exports mainly included cement and dairy products, the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported.
More than 750,000 tons, mainly including corn and barley, were imported from the ports under review during the same period. 
The local official added that 442,000 tons of goods were transited though the province during the period.
Mazandaran has three ports, namely Amirabad, Noshahr and Fereydounkenar, with the first being the most active in the region. In fact, Amirabad is the largest port facility on the Caspian shore and the third largest in Iran.
A total of 3.6 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Amirabad during the last Iranian year that ended on March 19.
According to Amir Jamshidi, director general of Amirabad Port, the port’s  revenues increased by 9% last year to reach 2.88 trillion rials ($14.4 million).
