IVO Destroys Meat for Health Reasons

Iran Veterinary Organization destroyed 2,246 tons of substandard red meat and chicken during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20).
According to Ali Safar Makenali, the head of the organization, the destroyed products were found in slaughterhouses, packaging firms and distribution centers, IRNA reported. 
Makenali noted that last year more than 12,884 tons of substandard red meat and chicken were destroyed before they could be marketed and put public health at risk.
