4,000 School Buildings to Undergo Technical Inspection

More than 4,000 schools will be inspected in summer to evaluate the seismic safety of their buildings, according to Farnam Khojastehfar, an official with the Central Taskforce of Technical Inspection of Buildings. 
“Four years into the inception of this taskforce, about 30% of government buildings have received technical inspection certificates,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA, adding that the figure is expected to rise to 40% by March 2021. 
Noting that according to the statistics by Tehran Fire Department, there are more than 200 building complexes with high-risk safety hazards, Khojastehfar said, “Our on-site inspection is aimed at verifying the compliance with technical specifications, including the buildings’ electricity and mechanical facilities, their architecture, facade and structures.”
