Iran’s red meat production has increased from 755,000 tons in March 2013-14 to 815,000 tons in the fiscal 2016-17, indicating a 7.9% rise over the four-year period.
Red meat production stood at 785,000 and 806,000 tons during the fiscal March 2014-15 and March 2015-16 respectively, IRNA reported citing data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the Association of Cattle Breeders, red meat consumption in Iran is about 880,000 tons per year.
