Tobacco Inflation Reaches 23.9%

The average Consumer Price Index of tobacco in the 12-month period ending April 19, which marks the end of the first month of the current Iranian year, increased by 23.9% compared with the corresponding period of the year before.
According to the Statistical Center of Iran, the CPI stood at 303.8 for the month under review, indicating a 3.9% rise compared with the month before.
The tobacco index, which has the least impact on total inflation rate among the basket of consumer goods and services with a coefficient of 0.59%, registered a year-on-year increase of 11%.
