18% Rise in Export From Abadan Ports
18% Rise in Export From Abadan Ports

A total of 129,134 tons of commodities were exported from Abadan County’s three commercial ports, namely Arvandkenar, Abadan and Chavibdeh, during the last Iranian year (March 2019-20), which shows an 18% increase compared with the previous year, according to the manager of Abadan Ports and Maritime Organization.
“Our main exported products were seafood, shrimps in particular, fodder, pulses, nuts, dairy products, dried vegetable, carpet and rugs, handicrafts and different kinds of stones,” Reza Saffari was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Saffari noted that the littoral states of Persian Gulf are the main export destinations for these goods over the period. 
“The total throughput in the three aforementioned ports amounted to 163,910 tons last year, registering a 21% year-on-year rise. Loaded and unloaded commodities included metals, home appliances, red meat and meat products, agricultural products, rubber, electric and electronic devices, chemicals, textile, fibers and apparel,” he added.
Abadan is a port city located in the southern Khuzestan Province.
