Spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration Rouhollah Latifi has given the latest account of Iran's commercial exchanges through border crossings with neighboring countries, as the outbreak of the new coronavirus has restricted the flow of goods through land borders.
“Iran's border crossings with Iraq, except for those with the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, will remain closed for trade until April 15,” he said.
“The border crossings of Shalamcheh, Chazzabeh, Mehran and Khosravi will stay closed for commercial exchanges.”
Latifi noted that trade between the two sides are currently underway through the border crossings of Parvizkhan, Tamarchin and Bashmaq, Mehr News Agency reported.
The closures have been imposed by the Iraqi government.
Iraq is the main destination of exports among Iran’s neighboring countries.
Giving more details on Iran’s commercial exchanges with the neighbors and border trade, he said currently trade with Pakistan, Kuwait and the UAE have been suspended while there is limited trade with Armenia.
Trade with Turkey is underway via the rail border of Razi in West Azarbaijan Province, while trade with Afghanistan is carried out through the border crossings of Dogharoun, Mahiroud and Milak.
Latifi said commercial exchanges with Russia are presently carried out via northern sea ports as well as road and rail routes passing through Azerbaijan.
Iran-Azerbaijan trade is currently being carried out via road, rail and sea ports of Amirabad, Anzali, Astara, Caspian and Noshahr.
Bilateral trade with Turkmenistan is also underway via Sarakhs Border Terminal in the northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province. 
Negotiations are being carried out to open the Inche-Boroun railroad.
Trade with Qatar is underway using refrigerated watercrafts.
As for Oman, trade is carried out through Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province, using intermodal containers.
What is more, exchanges with Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is carried out via transshipment, the IRICA spokesman said.
Latifi added that the main ports of the country, including the ports of Imam Khomeini, Rajaee, Bahonar, Bushehr and Chabahar are open and operating for transit, imports and exports.
