The export of 137 tons of medical gloves (28 million pairs) from the country has been blocked recently in the Bazargan district, a border crossing in West Azarbaijan Province, northwest of Iran.
Plans are underway to distribute the gloves among medical centers, IRNA reported, citing the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration’s Public Relations Department.
The export of medical gloves, in addition to other items used in preventing coronavirus spread, including alcohol, facemasks, scrubs, disinfectants, soaps and tissues, was banned from March 9.
