Spring Fairs Go Online Amid Virus Outbreak

Spring fairs, which have been canceled across the country due to the extraordinary situation created by the spread of the new coronavirus, are being run online at http://bahar99.ir as of March 13-19.
According to the head of Commerce Development Center of Iran Ali Rahbari, the decision to run the fairs online is aimed at compensating part of the losses inflicted on guilds that had planned to offer their products to the public in the runup to the New Year holidays, Fars News Agency reported.
Products are now being offered through at least 100 online shops.
Spring fairs are organized several times every year, more prominently in the runup to Norouz holidays (the initial days of the new Iranian year) for directly supplying locally produced goods, including rice, sugar, oil, pasta, tomato paste, red meat, chicken, eggs, milk, butter, yogurt, pastry as well as chocolates, nuts, bags, shoes, apparel and detergents among others, at cheap prices to the public.
