Rise in Imports of Livestock, Poultry Feed

Imports of livestock and poultry feed saw a 21% growth in weight and a 31% increase in value to reach 14 million tons worth $3.9 billion in the 11 months to Feb. 19, the news outlet of Iran Feed Grain Importers’ Union reported.  

More than 8.13 million tons of corns worth $1.9 billion were imported over the period, indicating a 1% growth in weight and a 6% rise in value year-on-year. 

Iran imported over 3.8 million tons of barley worth $953 million during the 11-month period, which registers a 78% and 59% growth in weight and value when compared with the corresponding period of the year before. 

Eleven-month imports of soybean meal stood at 2.2 million tons worth $932 million. The figure shows a year-on-year increase of 78% and 71% in weight and value, respectively.
