Fourteen hospitals with a total of 2,527 beds have been constructed in Iran in the past two years, says Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Jafar Alizadeh.
He put the number of hospitals completed in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2019) at six and said they are located in the cities of Boroujen in Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Province (237 beds), Behshahr in Mazandaran (220 beds), Paveh in Kermanshah (90 beds), Zarand in Kerman (149 beds), Saravan in Sistan-Baluchistan (222 beds) and Talesh in Gilan (232 beds).

They are ready for launch,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
Saqqez is located in Kurdestan Province, Langeroud in Gilan, Gachsaran in Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad, Takab in West Azarbaijan, Touyserkan in Hamedan, Jahrom in Fars, Mehdishahr in Semnan and Torbat-e Heydariyeh in Khorasan Razavi.
Health Minister Saeed Namaki announced last year that Iran was in talks with China for financing the construction of a 500-bed hospital in the suburbs of the northeastern city of Mashhad.
“We have already used Chinese financing in building hospitals with over 500 beds across the country. We have a similar project in Mashhad, but we haven’t yet reached an agreement [with the Chinese side]. If we reach an agreement in our talks, we will disclose the details to the public,” he said.
“We are currently in talks with the Chinese side and private companies about ways to use their help in the form of finance for the development of our health infrastructures,” he added.
