Production of 29 Iranian Industrial Commodities Increases

The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's review of the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2019-Jan. 20) show the production of 29 industrial products registered growth compared with the corresponding period of last year.

A total of 31,500 tons of pesticides were produced during the period, up by 9,800 tons or 44.9% compared with last year’s corresponding period.

Washing machine production stood at 572,900 tons to register a year-on-year increase of around 30.5%.

Production of pharmaceuticals rose by more than 26.6% to 40.2 billion units.

A total of 709,800 evaporative coolers were produced during the period under review, indicating 23.7% rise YOY.

The production of pickups totaled 53,000 tons, up by 22.8% YOY.

More than 248,700 tons of polyester filament yarn were produced in 10 months, indicating a 21.3% growth YOY.

Glassware production rose by 19.6% YOY to 440,500 tons, followed by cigarettes that went up by 19.2% to reach 45.2 billion.

Production of polyester fibers reached 198,600 tons, up by 18.8% YOY; followed by 588,900 cubic meters of particle board, up 17.9% YOY; 7.76 million electric motors, up by 17.5% YOY; 46,300 tons of porcelain ware, up 16.2% YOY; 15,559 tractors, up 14.1% YOY; 51.22 million tons of cement, up 12.2% YOY; and 1.5 million tons of vegetable oil, up 11.1% YOY.

Steel products saw a 9.3% YOY rise in to reach 17.58 million tons. 

Production of glass sheet went up 8.4% YOY to reach 885,200 tons, followed by crude steel, which increased 6.8% YOY to 20 million tons; paper up 6.6% YOY to 838,000 tons; refrigerators up 6.3% YOY to 954,900 items; sanitary ware up 6% YOY to 88,000 tons; tiles and ceramics up 5.3% YOY to 335.83 million square meters; cotton yarn up 5.2% YOY to 190,800 tons; and copper cathode up 3.1% YOY to 207,800 tons.

The production of carton and petrochemicals both witnessed a 1.9% growth in production to reach 428,400 tons and 45.8 million tons respectively.

Leather production went up by 1.6% YOY to reach 38.5 million square feet, followed by fiberboard that went up by 0.8% to 1 million cubic meters and auto tires that rose 0.3% YOY to 187,300 tons.
