The National Iranian Copper Industries Company sold 183 trillion rials ($1.35 billion) worth of products during the 10 months to Jan. 20.
The announcement was made by NICICO’s Managing Director Ardeshir Sa'd-Mohammadi, Shata news agency, affiliated with the Ministry of Industries, Mining, and Trade reported.
NICICO is a leading copper producer in the Middle East and North Africa region and its mines hold close to 14% of Asia’s copper deposits and about 3% of global reserves.
Iran holds about 4 billion tons of estimated copper reserves, according to the Geological Survey of Iran.
