Statistical Center of Iran: Average Annual Inflation Dips to 38.6%

The overall Consumer Price Index (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 195.4 during the month under review, indicating a 0.8% rise compared with the month before and a year-on-year increase of 26.3%

The average goods and services Consumer Price Index in the 12-month period ending Jan. 20, which marks the final day of the 10th Iranian month Dey increased by 38.6% compared with last year’s corresponding period, latest data released by the Statistical Center of Iran show. 
SCI had put the annual inflation rate for the preceding Iranian month, which ended on Dec. 21, 2019, at 40%. 
The consumer inflation for the month under review (Dec. 22, 2019-Jan. 20, 2020) registered a year-on-year increase of 26.3% compared with the similar month of last year.
The overall Consumer Price Index (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 195.4 last month, indicating a 0.8% rise compared with the month before.
