21% Rise in Non-Oil Exports From Bushehr

A total of 6.37 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $5.34 billion were exported from the southern Bushehr Province during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Nov. 22) to register an increase of 21% compared with last year’s corresponding period.
According to Behrouz Qarehbeygi, director general of Bushehr Customs Office, China, the UAE, South Korea, India, Qatar, Brazil, Pakistan, Iraq and Turkey were major export destinations, IRNA reported.
The main non-oil commodities exported from the province during the eight months under review included petrochemicals, minerals, seafood and vegetables.
In addition, a total of 875,000 tons of gas condensates worth $454 million were exported from the province during the same period.
Meanwhile, 294,000 tons of goods worth $738 million were imported into Bushehr from March 21 to Nov. 22, registering a 31% and 41% decline in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year.
China, the Philippines, the UAE, New Zealand, India, Italy, Sri Lanka, Oman, South Korea and Germany were top exporters to the province, according the local official.
