Industries Ministry Reviews 12 Mineral Products Over Seven Months

The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's review of 12 mineral products during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Oct. 22) shows nine witnessed year-on-year growth while the remaining three suffered declines.
Latest data from the ministry indicate crude steel production rose by 6.5% during the period compared with last year’s corresponding period to exceed 14 million tons, IRNA reported.
The production of finished steel saw a 6.6% year-on-year rise to 12.17 million tons. 
The highest growth among the reviewed products was registered for porcelain, glassware, sanitary ware, copper cathode and glass sheet.
A total of 33,000 tons of porcelain were produced during the period, up by 22.3% YOY—the highest rise among the 12 products under review.
Glassware output rose 15.8% to 304,300 tons.
Sanitary ware output rose 13.5% to 63,800 tons.
Copper cathode production saw a 13% growth to 156,000 tons.
Glass sheet production hit 628,600 tons, up by 10.2% YOY, 
Cement production grew 7.2% YOY to 34.07 million tons.
Tile and ceramics production witnessed a 5.7% rise YOY to 228.89 million square meters.
The production of aluminum ingots, coal concentrates and alumina powder witnessed a decline.
Aluminum ingot output decreased by 31.5% YOY to 145,000 tons, while that of coal concentrate declined by 6.7% YOY to 891,100 tons.
A total of 132,700 tons of alumina powder were produced during the period to register a 5% decrease YOY respectively.
