A total of 155,000 tons of goods worth $136 million were exported from Semnan Province during the seven months to Oct. 22, registering a 51% increase in value compared to last year’s corresponding period.
“Forty-five countries were the destinations of Semnan exports,” Semnan Customs Administration’s Director General Ali Sa'deddin said.
Some 65% of the province’s exports went to Iraq and Afghanistan last year, which share has now reduced to 50% this year.
However, exports to other markets, including India, the UAE and Turkey, have increased, IRIB reported.
Lead ingot with $20 million, sodium hydroxide with $18 million and wires and cables with $10 million were the main commodities exported from Semnan during the period.
