SCI Reviews Latest Price Changes in Food Products

The average CPI of “food and beverages” group in the 12-month period ending Oct. 22 increased by 60.8% compared with last year’s corresponding period

The biggest month-on-month price rise for a food item during the month ending Oct. 22 was 27.7% recorded for cucumbers, such that 1 kilogram was sold at 54,389 rials (48 cents).
The second and third biggest month-on-month price increases during the period were registered for packed foreign tea with 2.6% and Iranian pasteurized cheese with 2.4%, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.
A kilogram of packed foreign tea was sold at 562,576 rials ($5) and a kilogram of Iranian pasteurized cheese went for 108,067 rials (96 cents) last month.
