The Iranian National Tax Administration has extended the deadline for its tax forgiveness initiative until Oct. 26, says Omid Ali Parsa, the director of the administration.
As per the tax forgiveness program, taxpayers who file past tax returns before the aforementioned date would be eligible for 100% forgiveness of all their tax penalties, Fars News Agency reported.
Latest data show the government earned more than 240 trillion rials ($2.12 billion) in tax revenues during the first quarter of the current Iranian year that began on March 21, indicating a 28% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year.
Last year, a total of 1,090 trillion rials ($9.64 billion) were generated from taxation.
