The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration has reopened Chazzabeh border crossing in the southern Khuzestan Province for cross-border exports.
Truck movement from Chazzabeh border crossing, along with several other border crossings with Iraq, had been banned since Oct. 7 to ensure the safety of Arbaeen pilgrims, Mehr News Agency reported on Wednesday.
The largest annual gathering of Muslims in the world, Arbaeen, was held on Oct. 19 this year. The ceremony sees tens of millions of Muslims flock to the city of Karbala in Iraq every year.
