More than 1.42 billion transactions were processed via automated teller machines in the first three months of current fiscal year (started March 21).
By the end of this period the number of active ATMs across the country reached 57,052, IBENA reported, citing data from the Central Bank of Iran.
Comparing the new numbers with statistics reported for the end of first half of the previous fiscal year ( Sept. 22, 2018) shows an increase of 2,000 ATMs. (The number of ATMs then stood at 55,282).
With 7,945 ATMs, the largest state-owned lender, Bank Melli Iran recorded the highest number of ATMs across the country in the aforesaid period, or 13.9% of the total.
