More than 1.9 million tons of commodities worth over 77 trillion rials ($616 million) were traded during the calendar month ending on November 21 at Iran Mercantile Exchange, registering 14% growth compared to the month before.
Trading in the capital market in Tehran starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
The agriculture platform at IME witnessed trading of more than 214,810 tons of products worth 2.08 trillion rials ($16.64 million). Accordingly, 214,310 tons of wheat, 500 tons of sugar, and 535 kilograms of saffron were sold on this platform, Securities & Exchange News Agency reported.
In addition, more than 973,000 tons of goods worth 50.54 trillion rials ($404.36 million) changed hands on the oil and petrochemical platform, including 338,083 tons of tar, 227,382 tons of polymer materials, 122,806 tons of chemicals, 278,225 tons of vacuum bottom, 2,400 tons of sulfur, 4,611 tons of thermal insulator, 150 tons of gases and feeds, and 200 tons of oil.
Trading on the industrial and mineral platform reached 720,828 tons worth 24.54 trillion rials ($196.32 million). The traded commodities included 395,076 tons of steel, 12,675 tons of copper, 670 tons of molybdenum concentrates, 27 tons of concentrates, 4,500 tons of aluminum, 2,000 tons of cement, 300,000 tons of iron ore, 880 tons of zinc, 5,000 tons of direct reduced iron, and 5 kilograms of gold ingots.
The secondary market at IME also traded 32 tons of products during the month.
