    Stocks in Freefall

    Tehran Stock Exchange's main index, TEDPIX, lost 64,663.32 points or 3.20% on Monday to end at 1,956,634.03 and the TSE equal-weighted index plunged 2.93%.

    About 10.44 billion shares worth 65.57 trillion rials ($145.72 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

    Saipa Glass Company led the winner’s list as its shares jumped 5.67% to 49,180 rials per share.

    Saipa Investment Group Company was the big loser among all TSE-listed companies plunging 6.99% to 4,790 rials per share.

    Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, National Iranian Copper Industries Company and Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company.

    Pasargad Bank gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Dashtestan Cement Industries Company, HiWeb Company (Dadeh Gostar Asr Novin) and Kharazmi Investment Company.

    IFX Falls 2.54%

    Iran Fara Bourse main index gave up 672.66 points or 2.54% to close Monday at 25,805.65. About 9.02 billion securities worth 2,503.75 trillion rials ($5.56 billion) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.

    Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares at 658.22 million worth 754.44 billion rials ($1.67 million).

    Razavi Yeast Company was in the lead in terms of growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 4.99% to reach 51,550 rials per share.

    The big loser was Nian Electronic Company plunging 12.79% to reach 96,850 rials per share.

    Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company and Iran Khodro Diesel Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Takhte Jamshid Petrochemical Industries Company, Negin Software Systems Development Company and Razavi Yeast Company.
