Tehran Stock Exchange's main index, TEDPIX, gave up 30,154.71 points or 1.40% on Tuesday to end at 1,128,378.41 and the TSE equal-weighted index lost 1.88%.
About 10.84 billion shares worth 70.95 trillion rials ($157.67 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Pegah Khorasan Dairy Company led the winner’s list as its shares jumped 6.55% to 9,600 rials per share.
Sina Bank was the big loser among all TSE-listed companies plunging 6.8% to 3,507 rials per share.
Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company and Social Security Investment Company.
Niroo Investment Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Alborz Insurance Company, Sazeh Pouyesh Company and Bahman Group Company.
IFX Falls 1.52%
Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX lost 424.89 points or 1.52% to close Tuesday at 27,595.62.
About 8.66 billion securities worth 78.56 trillion rials ($174.58 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.
Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares at 591.7 million worth 763.77 billion rials ($1.7 million).
Novin Investment Company was in the lead in terms of growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 5.69% to reach 2,360 rials per share.
The big loser was Maskan Pardis Investment Company plunging 6.89% to reach 14,870 rials per share.
Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company, Hormozgan Steel Company and Zagros Petrochemical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Pegah Golpayegan Dairy Company, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company and Chaharmahal Food Products and Sugar Company.
