The main gauge of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 17,000 points last week and was up 0.77%, during three days of trade and the TSE equal-weighted index climbed 1.45%.

IFX, the main index of Iran Fara Bourse registered 1.18% or 339 points during the past week.

Average value of daily trade dropped 26% to reach 75.81 trillion rials ($151.6 million) compared to 102.65 trillion rials ($205.3m) the week before.

Likewise, retail trade was considerably lower than previous weeks, Eghtesadnews reported. Net capital outflow by retail investors reached 800 billion rials ($1.6m) in the week.

Due to public holidays the stock market was open only for three days during which it logged slight growth. However, this recent trend is seen by most pundits some sort of consolidation rather than significant growth or decline.

The phenomenon of market consolidation has been ongoing for almost a month with indices rather unsettled and shifting between minor gains and losses.
