Tehran Stock Exchange's main index, TEDPIX, lost 28,124.30 points or 1.22% on Wednesday to end at 2,277,713.14. The TSE equal-weighted index was down 2.24%.
About 20.83 billion shares worth 150.33 trillion rials ($334.06 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Nasir Machine Engineering Company led the winner’s list as its shares jumped 6.82% to 21,780 rials per share. Atieh Damavand Investment Company was the big loser among all TSE-listed companies plunging 6.97% to 20,940 rials per share.
Social Security Investment Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by MAPNA Group, Iran Khodro Company and Mobin Energy Persian Gulf Company.
Sadr Tamin Investment Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Shazand Petrochemical Company and Dr. Abidi Pharmaceutical Company.
IFX Adds Losses
Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX lost 277.01 points or 0.95% to close Wednesday at 28,824.5.
About 11.2 billion securities worth 316.13 trillion rials ($702.6 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.
Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares at 1.65 billion worth 2.63 trillion rials ($5.84 million).
Sepidar System Asia Company was in the lead in terms of growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 6.67% to reach 59,950 rials per share.
The big loser was Bahman Leasing Company plunging 6.99% to reach 5,240 rials per share.
Saba Tamin Investment Company, Hormozgan Steel Company, Day Bank and Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Zagros Petrochemical Company, Bahman Diesel Company and Sarcheshmeh Copper Investment Company.
