TEDPIX, the main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, lost 2,822.67 points or 0.17% on Wednesday to end at 1,656,593.35 and the TSE equal-weighted index slumped 0.76%.
About 14.8 billion shares worth 97.53 trillion rials ($216 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Hamedan Glass Company led the winning side as its shares jumped 7% to 4,908 rials per share. Iran Combine Manufacturing Company was the main laggard among all TSE-listed companies plunging 6.56% to 5,410 rials per share.
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Iran Khodro Company, Bank Mellat, Bank Pasargad Iran, Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company and Esfahan Oil Refining Company.
Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, Social Security Investment Company, Pars Petrochemical Company and Jam Petrochemical Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX gained 66.44 points or 0.31% to close Wednesday at 21,346.23.
About 7.04 billion securities worth 123.7 trillion rials ($274.35 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.
Arman Entekhab Electric Group Company had the highest number of traded shares at 5.88 million worth 129.23 billion rials ($299.4m).
Rail Pardaz Seir Company was in the lead in terms of growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 6.98% to reach 2,499 rials per share.
The big loser was Dena Afarin Fadak Food Preparation and Distribution Company plunging 6.72% to reach 7,640 rials per share.
Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company, Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex, Pouya Zarkan Agh Darreh Company and Damavand Power Generation Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Hormozgan Steel Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Zagros Petrochemical Company, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company and Armam Entekhab Electronic Industrial Group Company.
