Tehran stocks posted meager growth on the first day of the week on Saturday after huge losses last week.
The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, hardly gained 3,560.62 points or 0.29% to end at 1,244,627.30.
About 6.35 billion shares worth 38.54 trillion rials ($132.9 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Industry and Trade Development Investment Company led the winner’s list as its shares jumped 6.6% to 1,744 rials per share.
Bahman Investment Company was the big loser among all TSE-listed companies plunging 6.49% to 2,321 rials per share.
MAPNA Group Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Behran Oil Company, Bahman Investment Company and Sepid Farab Kavir Steel Manufacturing Company.
Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Mobarakeh Steel Company and Esfahan Oil Refining Company.
TEDPIX lost nearly 69,000 points or 5.28% last week. It was the biggest weekly loss since the beginning of the year in March as the bruising sell-off dragged on.
IFX Down 0.4%
Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX lost 69.35 points or 0.4% to close Saturday trade at the 17,140.79.
About 3.47 billion securities worth 125.35 trillion rials ($432.23m) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.
Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares at 468.42 million worth 271.92 billion rials ($937,682).
Northeast Shahroud Industrial and Mining Company was in the lead with the highest growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 6.58% to reach 98,800 rials per share.
The big loser was Rayan Ham-Afza Company plunging 6.11% to reach 31,500 rials per share.
Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Minoo Industrial Group Company, Bahman Diesel Company and Damavand Power Generation Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Arya Sasol Polymer Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Shiraz Oil Refining Company, Iran Fara Bourse and Daana Pharmaceutical Company.
IFX lost 641 points or 3.6% in the week.
