    Stocks End Week Higher 

    Tehran stocks ended trading week on Wednesday slightly higher but unprecedented decline in retail trade continues to undermine share market.  

    The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 3,005.35 points or 0.20% on Wednesday to end trading at 1,471,898. 

    The TSE’s equal-weighted index was up a little more than 0.5% to indicate that small caps performed slightly better. 

    Extending a declining pattern, value of retail trade plunged to the lowest in the past 14 months to reach 16.93 trillion rials ($54.6m) for the day, indicating 19% daily decline.  

    About 3.95 billion shares valued at 28.54 trillion rials ($92 million) changed hands at TSE on Wednesday.

    Trading at TSE and junior equities exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

    Pars Minoo Industrial Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5.99% to 1,965 rials per share.

    Ardakan Industrial Ceramics Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.67% to 7,760 rials per share.

    Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Khouzestan Steel Company, Chadormalu Mining And Industrial Company and Nouri Petrochemical Company.

    Pardis Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Social Security Investment Company, Mobin Energy Persian Gulf Company and Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company.

     

    IFX Down 0.4%

    Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 79.65 points or 0.41% to close Wednesday trade at the 19,539.

    About 1.75 billion shares and securities valued at 58.43 trillion rials ($188 million) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.

    Pasargad Insurance Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company and Damavand Power Generation Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Minoo Industrial Group Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Bahman Diesel Company.
