    Stocks Open in Negative Territory

    Tehran stocks opened trading week Saturday in negative territory amid slight improvement in retail trade. 

    The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost 2,008 points or 0.13% to end at 1,518,290.The TSE’s equal-weighted index too shed 0.36% for the day. 

    Retail trade increased 9% on the previous session to reach 37.49 trillion rials ($117 million). About 5.8 billion shares valued at 37.88 trillion rials ($130.6m) changed hands at TSE for the day.

    Trading at TSE and junior equities exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts Saturday and ends Wednesday.

    Shomal Cement Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5.98% to 9,930 rials per share.

    Pegah Esfahan Dairy Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies to plunge 5.81% to 19,460 rials per share.

    Iran Khodro Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Bank Saderat Iran, Tejarat Bank and Chadormalu Mining And Industrial Company.

    Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Shazand Petrochemical Company and Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Company.

     

    IFX Down 0.15%

    Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 30.92 points or 0.15% to close Saturday at 20,915. About 2.35 billion shares and securities valued at 39.11 trillion rials ($134.8m) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.

    Damavand Power Generation Company, Day Insurance Company, Gilan Electric Power Development Company and Jahrom Power Plant Development Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Iranol Oil Company, Mehr Ayandegan Financial Development Group Company and Bahman Diesel Company.
